Enthalpy

Definition

Enthalpy is a measure of the amount of thermal energy contained in a substance. It is the sum of all the kinetic energy of the molecules in motion and the potential energy of the intermolecular forces

Enthalpy is measured in (see mole, joule)

Enthalpy is loosely related to temperature. But we can assume that it is independent of temperature for a good approximation.
